Two teams from IFP School's Powertrain Engineering (PWT) program won the first and second prizes for the best student poster at the "Powertrain & Energy" International Conference of the Société des ingénieurs de l’automobile (SIA), which took place on June 15 and 16 in Rouen.

Passionate about cars and engines, Fabricio FREGONESE (Italy), Nilesh GORDE (India), Mohamed KAABAR (France) and Hugo MAUGERE (France) distinguished themselves by presenting a technical and economic analysis of electric trucks with diesel hybridization, for an urban application. This team was supervised by Mr. Hussein Basma, Heavy-Duty Vehicles Associate Researcher at The International Council on Clean Transportation (2017 PWT graduate).

The second team made up of Soufiane BENYASSINE (Morocco), Nicolas FLANDIN (France), Nathan GEORGELIN (France) and Xuanqi LIU (China), was awarded the second prize thanks to its comparative study of the cost per use of different vehicle traction technologies until 2050. Mr. Stéphane Rimaux, Systems Engineer at Stellantis, accompanied this team.

Throughout the competition, the students were also supported by Ouafae El Ganaoui-Mourlan, Supervisor of the PWT program and Co-holder of the ECAV Chair at IFP School, and El Hadj Miliani, lecturer at IFP School.

This is the fourth consecutive year since 2018 that IFP School has made it to the podium of the "Student Challenge".
