A team from IFP School's Georesources and Energy Center has been giving lectures (face-to-face or remotely) at the Greek Institute of Geoenergy (FORTH/IG) in Crete since last November as part of the European project Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (Twinn2SET).
Launched on October 2, 2022 in partnership with IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) and the University of Stavanger (Norway), this project aims to improve the institute's research capacity on underground hydrogen storage and to set up a state-of-the-art laboratory on its campus.
The IFP School team is composed of Mathilde Adelinet, Jean-Pierre Deflandre, Eric Deville, Frédérique Fournier and Olivier Lerat. Frédéric Douarche, a research engineer in geosciences at IFPEN, also participates in the series of courses that the team teaches on topics such as the energy transition, underground storage (natural gas, CO2, hydrogen), subsurface monitoring, natural fluid systems and geothermal energy. This first teaching cycle began in November 2022 and will continue through June 2023.
