Antoine Fécant holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille (2004) and a DEA (Master degree) from the University of Lille I the same year. He then obtained a PhD from the Ecole normale supérieure de Lyon in materials chemistry, work carried out at IFP Energies nouvelles under the supervision of Dr. Caroline Mellot-Draznieks (Imperial College London) and Dr. Nicolas Bats (IFPEN) and for which he received the “Yves Chauvin” thesis prize in 2008. He joined IFPEN in 2007 as a research engineer in catalysis, then was appointed manager of prospective projects on the field of synthetic fuels in 2013. Since 2018, he is in charge of industrial projects for the development of catalysts and responsible processes in the refining field.
He is involved in the training of students (interns, PhD students), member of the Société Chimique de France, author of about twenty publications and inventor of more than 100 patents. Antoine Fécant contributed to the birth of research in the field of photocatalysis for the production of "solar fuels" within IFPEN and is still active in this field. To that extent, he was awarded the young researcher prize of the city of Lyon in the category of science and engineering for sustainable development in 2012.
Antoine Fécant was awarded the IMT Espoir Award from the French Academy of Science in 2021 for his research in the field of materials for energy.
