Establishing a green river transport fleet: LCA and prospective modeling at the heart of the FLUENT study

Based on IFPEN’s expertise (via its IFPEN Transports Energie Carnot Institute) in the field of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and prospective modeling,  the FLUENT (FLUvial ENergie Transition, or river energy transition) study evaluated the global and multidimensional consequences of establishing a green river fleet with a view to guiding the drawing up of the French national roadmap.

Electrical machines: Design, optimization, control and diagnosis

Like all sectors concerned by electrification, the transport sector requires the design of high-performance, efficient electrical systems that respond to multiple constraints, such as cost and compactness. In this context, optimisation has become an essential step in the design process of these systems, particularly for electrical machines...

Hydrogen

Hydrogen OVERVIEW AND CHALLENGES Hydrogen is an energy vector that can act as a bridge between primary energy sources and end uses. It is considered to be an “energy transition vector” due to its potential to bring about a cleaner, more sustainable energy system across its entire value chain. Currently

Connected mobility

Connected mobility OVERVIEW AND CHALLENGES At a time when mobility is evolving to address the objectives of decarbonization, mobility data represent crucially important resources. Even before the advent of driverless vehicles, it is necessary to be able to understand, analyze and, indeed, predict major events (Covid-19, natural disasters, pollution, etc.)

Electrified Mobility

Electrified Mobility Overview and challenges Globally, the transport sector is responsible for 24% of greenhouse gas emissions (GGEs) (31% in France). To reduce them on a local level, recourse to electric energy is intensifying across all market segments and in every country, from private vehicles to the public transport and
